Working with Julie Lin means collaborating with a chef and broadcaster whose work bridges Southeast Asian heritage and contemporary Scottish food culture. Her approach is culturally informed, creatively distinctive, and rooted in the belief that food connects people, place, and identity through bold flavour and lived experience.

Julie brings extensive broadcast experience to every project. As writer and host of Julie’s World Ultimate Adventures on BBC World Service, and a regular contributor to programmes including Saturday Kitchen, Sunday Brunch, and BBC Morning Live, she understands how to communicate food stories with clarity, warmth, and authority.

Her work is recognised by industry and public platforms alike, including the Michelin Guide and Bib Gourmand, for the restaurants she founded- Julie’s Kopitiam and GaGa. This recognition is matched by hands-on experience running restaurants, leading residencies, and delivering events across the UK and internationally.

As a food writer and author, Julie brings a strong editorial voice shaped by professional cooking and cultural storytelling. She contributes to Condé Nast Traveller, Waitrose, and Substack, and is the author of the bestselling cookbook Sama Sama: Comfort Food from My Mixed Malaysian Kitchen.

Alongside publishing and broadcast, Julie works as a content creator and brand collaborator, delivering chef-led campaigns, recipes, and documentaries across food, travel, and hospitality—always balancing creative integrity with clear commercial and audience outcomes.
